The Buena Vida Coffee Story
The idea for a socially responsible coffee company came during a Global Medical Brigades trip to the coffee-growing community of Hoya Grande, Honduras in 2008. It was there that founder, Kate Novotny, had the vision to provide fair prices to coffee farmers, support the children at Sociedad Amigos de los Niños, and provide Marquette students with a hands-on entrepreneurial learning opportunity.
Through a partnership with Stone Creek Coffee, and with the help of faculty advisers and a group of investors, Buena Vida Coffee launched in 2010 and has been able to successfully fulfill its purpose. For every bag of coffee purchased, Buena Vida Coffee provides one meal to one child at the Sociedad Amigos de los Niños Orphanage. We hope you join us in our passion for coffee and our love for the children at Sociedad.
The words "good life" carry a multitude of meanings. Take a look at these photos to learn more about what they mean to Buena Vida Coffee.
