Marquette University is hosting The Grocery Challenge. This is a semester long innovative, community project, which explores the plan of development for an independent grocery store. This store will be conveniently located to serve the Marquette campus and the west side of Milwaukee. It will stock locally grown, organic produce. Teams of Marquette staff, students, and members of the community will congregate and pitch ideas for this new venture.
The grocery store Pick-in-Save and The Harley Davidson Factory have partnered with Marquette University to cover expenses. Local farmers will be contacted to serve this new store. This project will increase job opportunities and provide access to the community for a healthier lifestyle. Here at Buena Vida Coffee, we are excited to see this new business develop and provide access to healthy food options to the community.
